Supporting Neighborhood-Based Community Development

Center For Neighborhoods seeks to support neighbor-led community transformation. Since early 2018, we have led an initiative to understand the community development system in Louisville and opportunities to support grassroots organizations working to address housing, economic development, and community engagement in their own neighborhoods. This work has incorporated many neighborhood and partner voices through interviews, research, group trips to peer cities, group trainings, and visioning sessions.

Now, over 30 organizations have come together to form the Louisville Community Development Network, which meets regularly to convene a space for shared learning, connecting, collective advocacy and transforming the culture of local development across the city.
