What types of services and programs do neighborhoods and neighborhood leaders need?

How can Center For Neighborhoods help you in your quest to make Louisville a great place to live?

What new programs, services, and opportunities would you like us to offer?

What types of learning opportunities would you take advantage of?

Please give us your feedback! .........................

Received this input, via email....

Every neighborhood association has its distinct boundaries and a service I think you all could provide is to identify the recognized non-profits that do business or have their headquarters within the association’s boundaries. For example, for GermanParistown we were able to connect recently in a stronger way with the VOA and now know that their headquarters are located in our boundaries and our looking to partner with them in the future.

Hallie

Your organization has a vast array of talent and resources.  I think folks need:

A clearer understanding of those services and how to access them

How the Center relates to the Department for Neighborhoods

Possibly offering beginning, intermediate and advanced leadership classes

Site visits by your staff to neighborhood meetings, perhaps once a year or a follow up survey at graduation year `1

What are some ways to involve young people in the decisions that affect their lives at the neighborhood level? This paper distinguishes among five types of involvement—citizen action, youth action, youth development, neighborhood development, and neighborhood-based youth initiatives—and examines some of their promise and practice. It draws upon a national study of exemplary community youth programs and other studies of organizational resources that contribute to capacity building and raise questions about the future of the field. .........................
