About NAPs

What is a NAP Snapshot?

NAP stands for “Neighborhood Assessment Project”.  The vision for the merged government and for making Louisville Metro competitive included a plan to create quality neighborhoods that are vibrant and offer residents choices in housing, transportation, and recreation. The neighborhood assessment project was created by the Center For Neighborhoods in partnership with Metro United Way and the Louisville Metro Department of Neighborhoods, and made possible through an appropriation by the Louisville Metro Council.

NAP Snapshots provide neighborhood residents with the opportunity to:

  • Begin reviewing and planning short term and long term goals
  • Determine the future direction for the neighborhood
  • Assess the current status of the neighborhood for livability and viability
  • Define the necessary steps to create change in their neighborhood
