Overview of the Neighborhood Institute
The Neighborhood Institute is a neighborhood leadership-training program that began in 1987.  The Neighborhood Institute equips neighborhood leaders with the resources necessary to affect positive change by acting as individual citizens or through mobilizing their neighborhood associations.  Financial support is generously provided by the Metro United Way Community Investment Team of the Vital Neighborhoods Initiative.

  • Twelve-week seminar
  • Held twice each year  
  • Various learning formats include:
    • Experiential learning
    • Group problem solving
    • Expert panels
    • Participant experiences
    • Graduate (Neighborhood Institute Alumni) experiences
  • Attendance Requirements:
    • ALL sessions is encouraged and expected due to the variety of topics covered weekly and the food provided.
