What neighborhood do you live in?
Belknap
Please share one thing that nobody would
guess about you, something that is odd, outrageous,
or uncommon.
I met a rock n
roll punker who was 29 at the time and wasn’t sure which of his two names to use. We
shared make-up, clothes, and then one night drank a bottle
of Pernod and decided to get married. That was
1984 and we are happily together today. We have
raised a child, own a house, worked almost steadily,
and have about ¼ as much fun as we used to. However,
we don’t miss the Pernod.
There is a sense
of respect, support, and integrity at the Center
for Neighborhoods that is unlike anywhere else
I have worked. The warmth of dialogue, the
deep well of hopes shared, and the visionary process
of serving for greater good in our community provides
fulfilling and meaningful days. I can develop my
capacity to create processes that provide long-term stability
and growth for the Center for Neighborhoods while at
the same time benefiting the mission of CFN. I
feel a welcoming sense of growth, warmth, and intellectual
and emotional maturity while getting paid to work here. Hats
off to Jack and fellow team members!
