Please share one
thing that nobody would guess about you, something that
is odd, outrageous, or uncommon.
I got attacked by a hammer head shark in Pensacola Florida in 2004. It was only about 14 inches long. It bit me once in my right thigh. I smacked it to knock it off my leg, then it latched back onto my right thigh again. The second time it sunk its teeth in, it was determined to take a chunk of me with it! I had to beat that shark with a closed fist so it would finally let go. Afterwards, I ran screaming toward the beach to assess the damage. Nothing major - 2 small puncture wounds and a visit to the ER.
Why are you involved
with the Center For Neighborhoods?
I became involved with the Center For Neighborhoods
because I participated in the Neighborhood Institute. I
begged Jack to “let me in the door” because
I really enjoyed being a part of a community of people
who sought out positive social change in the community. I
finished my MA in Political Science in May 2006
and took some classes in Urban Planning, so the
Center For Neighborhoods was a natural fit because
it combines my personal interest in organizing
with my professional interest in planning.
